This ultimate roadmap covers the entire e-learning landscape. Why do we even need e-learning? What is an LMS? How do I write a storyboard? If you’re delving into e-learning and are coming up with more questions than answers, this guide is the high-level overview you’ve been looking for. In this book, e-learning development experts and educators Diane Elkins and Desirée Pinder deliver a comprehensive examination of the e-learning process from the ground up. E-Learning Fundamentals provides the base of knowledge necessary to tackle everything from early concepts of e-learning down to its execution. Throughout, you’ll find vignettes that bring concepts to life as well as checklists and practical tools for designing and developing your first e-learning course. In this book you will: • dive into the basics of e-learning design and development • explore the e-learning course design and development process—from analysis through evaluation • learn to write and storyboard a course, construct test questions, choose media, put the course together, and establish a thorough review process.

INTUITEL is a research project that was co-financed by the European Commission with the aim to advance state-of-the-art e-learning systems via addition of guidance and feedback for learners. Through a combination of pedagogical knowledge, measured learning progress and a broad range of environmental and background data, INTUITEL systems will provide guidance towards an optimal learning pathway. This allows INTUITEL-enabled learning management systems to offer learners automated, personalised learning support so far only provided by human tutors INTUITEL is - in the first place - a design pattern for the creation of adaptive e-learning systems. It focuses on the reusability of existing learning material and especially the annotation with semantic meta data. INTUITEL introduces a novel approach that describes learning material as well as didactic and pedagogical meta knowledge by the use of ontologies. Learning recommendations are inferred from these ontologies during runtime. This way INTUITEL solves a common problem in the field of adaptive systems: it is not restricted to a certain field. Any content from any domain can be annotated. The INTUITEL research team also developed a prototype system. Both the theoretical foundations and how to implement your own INTUITEL system are discussed in this book.

"Intelligent Data Analysis for e-Learning: Enhancing Security and Trustworthiness in Online Learning Systems addresses information security within e-Learning based on trustworthiness assessment and prediction. Over the past decade, many learning management systems have appeared in the education market. Security in these systems is essential for protecting against unfair and dishonest conduct--most notably cheating--however, e-Learning services are often designed and implemented without considering security requirements. Intelligent Data Analysis for e-Learning provides functional approaches of trustworthiness analysis, modeling, assessment, and prediction for stronger security and support in online learning."--Back cover.

When trainers use games, learners win big. As a trainer interested in game design, you know that games are more effective than lectures. You've seen firsthand how immersive games hold learners' interest, helping them explore new skills and experience different points of view. But how do you become the Milton Bradley of learning games? Play to Learn is here to help. This book bridges the gap between instructional design and game design; it's written to grow your game literacy and strengthen crucial game design skills. Experts Sharon Boller and Karl Kapp share real examples of in-person and online games, and offer an online game for you to try as you read. They walk you through evaluating entertainment and learning games, so you can apply the best to your own designs. Play to Learn will also show you how to: Link game design to your business needs and learning objectives. Test your prototype and refine your design. Deploy your game to motivated and excited learners. So don't just play around. Think big, design well, and use Play to Learn as your guide.
